Now that there are so many of us online and looking for love through all the various dating sites and services, we realize that the relationships that develop online are totally new beast and that what works in the real world does not always fly online. We though it would be so much fun to simply log on and register with one of the dating sites, but then we got all these new situations thrown at us that we don't even understand, let alone know how to deal with. So, in addition to that which we deal with offline, there are a few online relationship problems to figure out as well.

What makes online relationship problems so very different from those that we are used to is that many times you don't really know the person on the other side of the screen. Sure, you checked out their profile and probably read it over and over again, but if you never met them in person then you cannot be absolutely sure about who it is that you are dealing with. Just that fact alone can cause you to be overcautious and suspicious. But, both of those feelings are actually to your benefit and should not be considered among the many online relationship problems, because your safety should be the number one concern and a does of suspicion will keep you on your toes.

You though you knew

One of the most common online relationship problems that we hear about is all of the people that start to chat with someone else and things are really coming along when all of sudden they stop responding to your messages and e-mails. That can be one of the trickier online relationship problems, because many people will first think that the other person might not have received their mail and they are not even sure that the system is running properly. And so they will write a few times to make sure that the message was received, but still no response. You might even see that they are online while you are, but no word. What we have to realize in this situation is that the other person surely has other people that they have been communicating with while they were talking to you and one probably sparked their interest a bit more than you did. Those are the breaks in cyberspace, so just move on and keep chatting with the others that you too have kept on the backburner!
